Karaoke

Went karaoke-ing with my Bible Study (TABS) group last Friday. First time I ever went for karaoke. It was funny. They even provided a tambourine. :P

Today CCC celebrated its 40th anniversary. Didn'tt ake any pictures though, wasn't sure if we were allowed to. So none to show.

But we went to the Chu's house for lunch and general mucking around..and watched the Incredibles. :) Then Tet and I walked across the Harbour bridge, and took a video of him playing the trumpet on it. Hehehe. Ask me to show it sometime. :P

It was such an enjoyable day!! ^^

Yayy!

Today is our 2nd Year Anniversary. :) I've looked forward to this day...but...we didn't do anything special. Tet went to RICE music practice. I ate oatmeal for dinner. x.x However, we DID make lasagne on Monday night and watched Sin City on Tuesday night. Can I say...I don't understand that film at all.

Anyway, its been a memorable relationship. Lots of ups and downs. But Tet's a good man. I guess we all have our shortcomings so who am I to complain.

Anyways, this is him making lasagne which overflowed becos he packed about 800g of mince into 3 layers of lasagne sheets xP We were fishing for the sheets when we ate it. Its like looking for a needle in a haystack. hahahahaha. Funny guy. :P

Kitties =^^=

First, Thanks Dan for "fixing" my computer. haha. :P

Second, here are my kitty photos as promised. :)

Momma Fritz gave birth to 4 beautiful kittens:

The orange one:
Very frisky, likes to strut his stuff, he thinks he's a lion. He's the strongest and one could almost say he was the "leader" of the pack.

The charcoal one:
The one we're keeping. Abit wary of people, abit spaced out... like he's stoned or something.. hehe. Stubborn too . . . o.o

The white & grey one:
The runt of the group. First one to notice when his mom went missing (we brought her to the vet), first one to come running after you. Very very curious (he wouldn't leave our durians alone!). My personal favourite. :)

The colourful one:
The only female of the group. Likes to hang out with the orange one, always playing together. She's quite dominating. Again, quite wary of people. She likes to sleep in the flower pot. Often see her snoozing there in the afternoons. How cute. :)

Aren't they darlings? :D

The Meaning of Life...

Everyone now knows the meaning of Life. A cult following of "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" made it possible for at least 30% of the literate world to grasp its meaning. Now with the release of the movie, morons like me got to bask in its understanding as well. Increasing the numbers to probably 45% of the world's population.

Now I'm not one to be particularly apt at calculations or even memorising numbers, but can I say that I think the smartest computer in the world is just abit arrogant and thus subject to folly. And I think that the meaning of life is NOT 42.

The problem with the smartest computer is that she doesn't believe in life. She is, after all, a computer. She has no life. How would she even be able to grasp the depth of life if she cannot understand it? It is one thing to know, another to understand. So she cannot understand that there lies a God-shaped hole in all of us [Plumb] and thus uses the default paradigm of life = coexistence of good and evil.

Putting Good and Evil into calculation:
Good = 7
Evil = 6

7 X 6 = 42 = Meaning of Life.

How did these numbers come about? Often associated with good and evil but dont know their origins? They come from Hebrew times in the Bible where numbers were often used to symbolise things. 7 = perfection/good / God (who is perfect), 6 =incompleteness/evil (e.g. devil is 666).

We who know life should know death. We know that there is more to life than just good and evil. There is also death, and what happens after it. The computer only knew life as it was on earth but not beyond it and she had no soul to think about.

I thus propose a new meaning of life, that brings God into the calculation:

God / good = 7
Complete / whole = 12

7 X 12 = 84 = New Meaning of Life = Absolut God.

12 was a symbol of wholeness or everything because it represented the 12 Tribes of Israel that was basically everyone or everything.

My new proposal implores that the entire meaning of existance is God. Everything. Absolutely.

Why?

1) Everything in nature points towards a God
2) God created us to be in relationship with Him, to serve and worship Him and for no other reason. Its because of our wickedness that we reject Him and our supposedly default way of life.
3) God provides meaning to the present life, and to life after death, and only He is able to give you that life.

Thus, The Meaning of Life = 12 X 7 = Absolut God.

I Adore

The universe is at Your feet
Gives You praise evermore
The stars will light the sky for You
And always God be praised

And we sing The Lord is on high
The Lord is on high

I adore You, I adore You...
And theres none that compares
To Your majesty, Your love
I adore You, I adore You...
And I stand in the wonder of Your Love

We will crown Him, King forever
Living Saviour, Jesus Redemer
Lord of Heaven, cloaked in majesty
Crowned in glory, Creation adores you
Holy Holy God Almighty
And forever the Lord is exalted
Hear the angels
Shout His anthem
Ever living God we adore You

My new camera..

Hmm... you know... I've been thinking to myself lately... you should listen to other people. Don't be so stubborn.
Great time to listen to myself . . .
I finally made it to a mall with my aunty yesterday with the intention of buying a Canon Ixus 40. My aunty was disapproving of the price. She had suggested an olympus a couple of days before which was cheaper, but my friends all thought that canon would be far better. Not that price had anything to do with it...
BUT at the shop, the shopkeeper tells us (mostly in chinese which I didnt understand) why the Pentax Optio S40 had the same features, was better at close-up shots, didn't give human skin a yellow tinge and was cheaper on top of that. Now I know that brand name is everything when it comes to price and so I didnt think too much of it. Sure, I was apprehensive when I made the choice to buy the Pentax but its cos I didn't know anything about cameras or techonology despite my age. I was pretty happy with it until I had more time to fiddle with it. And then read the reviews, and then a heavy sinking feeling in my heart told me I should have stuck with the Canon and that being stubborn about things is usually the best thing to do. Especially when you don't know anything. I really did wonder at the shop why these guys were being so nice. Why were they selling me a cheaper camera when I would've paid more for the Canon and rid them of a dying breed of camera?
Of course I know why now. Of course chinese businesses are all the same. Of course they can spot a sucker when they see one.
Of course I'd pick the wrongest of times to let my guard down and listen to a couple of strangers in a strange country with strange values. How dumb.
I dont know what to say. I guess since its already bought and mine, I'll have to make the most of it. I'm not sure what kind of lesson I should be learning from this mistake.
Learn more about things before you buy them? I surely cant read up on every single brand of product before buying them? Dont go with a technologically naive sucker to buy your product? Then who can I go with that has money and transport? Take your time when buying things? Even if it means that it will cost 50-100 dollars more?
Life was never meant to be simple was it . . .

Going home :(

Going back tommorow.... boo hoo.

* clings to malaysian soil *

Stupid frames..

Hmmm... i dunno why but my blog frames look reaalllyy crappy on the computer back in Malaysia. Its quite discouraging because then other people's computer could be looking at my messy blog and wonder why I'm so grossly assymetrical...

Sigh. If anyone can tell me why it'd be great cos im so computer illiterate. blah. And i dont like asking my computer savvy friends unless its really important. I think they get enough stupidity from other people as well. Thus shirts that say, " No I will not fix your computer for you" etc.

Don't really have much to say. Just thought I had a duty to fill in my blog space. I told myself to write more in my real diary so that I can remember my last holiday ever back home. Consequently, I can't depict my experiences on blog because I hate repeating myself unnecessarily. And my life Is pretty boring as well. Just doing alot of Bimbo stuff like shopping. :p har har.

Gotta start doing Moore Course.... its almost the end of my holidays and exams are next month. I havent touched it since maybe 3 weeks before exams. Completely forgotten what I had learnt in it. All chucked out when cramming for exams... hahaha. But now, with renewed energy I must prevail!! As karen would say, add oil.

My kitties are poo-ing on the sliding door base. The smell is something like a mix of vomit and chinese pickles (you know the really stinky one). They're cute but they're stinky :x ill get some pics up when i go back to SYdney. Not much time left now before I leave my past behind. I'm gonna miss so many people. My heart is heavy. So is my stomach. MMm.... fuuud.. ;.;

Guess I should be writing more but I really can't be bothered. BLeh. Just that I'm having a great time and I wish life was a little less complicated.

Busy Busy

Been really busy just catching up with my social life. Also getting all the stuff I've been neglecting done... like cooking and cleaning (especially the latter).

Had a sleep over at my friend's yesterday. It was an all-girls thing so we made some jewelry, sang swtchfoot and watched incredibly soppy chick flicks. I cried in all three! But " A Walk To Remember" was definately the most tear jerking. I suspect because I was still awake and not as numb at that time. Not a big fan of Mandy Moore.... she's got this annoying half smile look. Errggh. But That movie was pretty sad. And theres this song by Swtchfoot called Only Hope. She does a pretty good version of it (not her strings arrangement though, so not much kudos to her..muaha). And we made pizzas and stuff. It was heaps fun. Hehe.

Gonna be fully busy this weekend as well. Going back to Malaysia on monday. Yay. Away from the cold and into the sunniness (and stickiness) of good ol malaysia with her irresistable foodstuffs!!!!!!! I'm gonna bring back a whole box of tom yam ruski mee. Yummyy..... ♥
