Creepy Crawlies...

This is an array of local delicacies at a market in Cambodia. In the front are sea cockroaches. In the middle are tarantulas and the end (brown) are silk worms. I believe that they were all fried.

My sister ate the silk worm..she said it tasted like peas. When we visited the silk factory a couple of days later, I knew what she meant because they boil the coccoons to remove the silk and yea...the place smelt like... pea soup. xP lol.

I ate the tarantula and the sea cockroach. The tarantula wasnt too bad.. i tentatively tried the legs first. Tasted abit like hoi sin flavoured crackers that had gone soft. The body was abit gross though...like even though it didnt taste any different, but yellow stuff oozed out when you bit through it. Yea.... ew. lol. And the sea cockroach..well...I took a bite and chucked the rest. It was abit much after haven swallowed a tarantula..

Anyways. A little bit of travel cuisine for you. x)
